Assessment

Assessments will be completed at our Training Centres in Kewdale or Mt Thorley. Working on a range of light vehicles, heavy vehicles, earthmover equipment, tyre handling equipment to meet all the requirements in the unit of competencies.

Resources Required

For the course, you are required to wear a long-sleeve high-visibility shirt, long pants, and steel-cap boots. Essential personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, face shield, and hearing protection, will be provided.

 

Additionally, you must have access to a computer, laptop, or tablet to use the Learning Management System (LMS) for completing knowledge assessments via correspondence and submitting on-the-job evidence.

Entry Requirements

Must be 18 years old, must be able to read, write and speak clear English. Hold a current forklift license (LF) this can be offered as additional course refer to Licenses Section

Delivery Method

This qualification is delivered for individuals who perform various tyre-related tasks within the automotive retail, commercial, and mining industries. The course will be delivered through a combination of classroom instruction, self-directed learning via correspondence, and active learning experiences. Practical demonstrations and tasks will be used to reinforce key concepts, alongside virtual and mixed reality sessions for immersive learning. Participants will also receive continuous feedback to support their development and ensure they meet industry standards.

Duration

The course will be conducted over 4 weeks, with training sessions running five days a week for 9 hours each day (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM) at the Otraco Training Centre. All training and assessment will be fully supervised. Additionally, a logbook must be completed over a six-month period to satisfy the volume of learning requirements.
